Learning Agreement – Europe (Erasmus+)

Learning Agreement

Study Agreement – a tripartite agreement between a student, VSE and a partner university on the courses that will be studied by the student at a partner university abroad and on the transfer of those courses into the student’s VSE study plan. Learning Agreement has to be approved before the departurechanges to courses can be usually made after the arrival at a partner university. Learning Agreement must include subjects worth at least 20 ECTS (faculties might set a higher minimum number of ECTS for their students – please see the faculty’s website or intranet), preferably 20-30 ECTS.

  • All students going on Exchange fill in a Learning Agreement in InSIS (you can download the instructions below)Some partner universities might require their own specific form.
  • The responsible person who approves Learning Agreements at VSE is the Vice-dean for academic affairs and/or the Vice-dean for international relations of the respective faculty, eventually the Program Director in case of some programmes taught in English.
  • Both parts of the study programme, i.e. tables A (Study program at the Receiving institution) and B (Recognition at the Sending institution), must be filled in and the number of credits in both tables must correspond.
  • More than a half of the courses (resp. credits) must be taught in the same language in which the student applied for the study abroad programme.
  • All courses must be transferable into the student’s study plan at VSE.
  • Learning Agreement must be approved by all three contracting parties (i.e. a student, VSE and a partner university) and saved in the checklist in InSIS before the signature of the Grant Agreement.

Groups of courses in the study plan at VSE

Courses studied abroad are usually transferred into a group of elective courses of a major specialization (faculty electives) or a group of optional courses (general electives).

If you want to recognize a course studied abroad into a group of compulsory courses of a major specialization, or any course (compulsory or elective) of a minor specialization, you need to consult your Learning Agreement not only with a Vice-dean, but in particular with the guarantor of the respective subject at VSE (there is an application form called The approval of a compulsory course before the study Abroad in Contact centre in InSIS designated for this purpose).

Learning Agreement “Changes”

All changes must be approved by the faculty before they occur.

  • If there are any changes to the courses studied abroad comparing to the courses listed in the already approved Learning agreement, the student fills in the changes to the Learning Agreement in InSIS and submits these changes for approval. Some partner universities might require their own specific form.
  • It is possible to fill in the changes to the Learning Agreement in InSIS repeatedly.
  • The manual with printscreens is available below.
  • The change in number of credits in table A and B must correspond.
  • The completely approved document (by student, the respective Vice-dean at VSE and the partner university) has to be uploaded in the checklist in InSIS during the exchange stay, but no later than on the last day of the mobility.
  • If there are no changes to the courses, student does not fill in the Learning Agreement “Changes”.
