VŠE student was awarded a Czech National Agency for International Education and Research prize, given by the Minister of Education
A VŠE student, Markéta Pincová, was awarded a prize from the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS) in the category Participant going abroad from the Czech Republic. The prize was awarded by the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports. The DZS prize-giving ceremony 2021 was held on Thursday, 7th of April in the National Gallery Prague – Trade Fair Palace. All nominated candidates and other experts in the field of education including representatives from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic attended the ceremony.
In 2021, new categories “Participant going abroad from the Czech Republic” and “Foreign participant coming to the Czech Republic” were added to the DZS prizes list in order to award interesting and beneficial mobilities of individuals, which are often not noticed in the complexity of larger projects.
Markéta was nominated for this prize by VŠE, given her exchange stay in Norway and Liechtenstein within the programme The EEA Grants.
Markéta Pincová is a bachelor’s degree student of Tourism and Regional Development at the Faculty of International Relations, VŠE. She has excellent study results and has a very responsible attitude towards her studies. Given the fact that she comes from a large family (9 siblings), she had limited options travelling abroad despite being drawn to it. Thus, at the end of her first year, she immediately responded to the special exchange programme offer for students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds eligible to a special grant, published by the International Office at VŠE. With the support of The EEA Grants, she spent her 4th semester of bachelor studies at BI Norwegian Business School, our partner university in Oslo. As she was very thrilled from her exchange abroad, after she came back, she applied for another exchange programme offer, still during her bachelor studies. This time it was for exchange stay at partner university in Lichtenstein, with the support of The EEA Grants once again.
During her exchanges and after her return as well, Markéta intensively participated in promoting studying abroad, particularly on social media, including several “takeovers” on the International Office’s Instagram account vse_studyabroad. She also contributed with photos, testimonials and summaries for webpages Norway through students’ eyes and Lichtenstein through students’ eyes. After her return, she has become one of the DZS’ ambassadors for The EEA Grants.
Currently, the student is finishing her bachelor’s degree at FIR and she intends to pursue the same field of study during her masters’ studies. She would like to realise other stays abroad, e.g. in the form of an internship.
Once more, we congratulate Markéta, we thank her for excellent VŠE representation and believe that her story becomes an inspiration for other students as well.
