Prague International Staff Week

Student Journeys: Powered by the International Office

14th Prague International Staff Week – staff training for our partners will take place between May 18-22, 2026.

This training is designed specifically for colleagues working in International Offices. It will focus on services provided by IRO staff to both incoming and outgoing students and will include a dedicated session on the Student Ambassador Programme. We would love for participants to share their best practices related to these topics. The upcoming International Staff Training Week promises a rich programme full of sessions and workshops, complemented by engaging social and cultural events.

Participation fee 250 EUR includes welcome package, coffee breaks, lunches, welcome dinner, guided tour and culture event. Invoice will be sent to selected participants (payment due in March 2026). Participants must cover costs for travel and accommodation.

Prague Recommendations

We recommend several hotels in the near proximity of the VSE campus:

Prague has a very good public transportation system. The metro, trams and buses cover the majority of the city and the outskirts. To move around the town, we recommend using the public transport over driving or taking a taxi. If you insist on taking taxis, do consider downloading an app such as Bolt, Liftago or Uber to avoid unexpectedly high charges.

Tickets for public transport

You need to have a valid ticket before getting on a bus/tram/metro. It is possible to buy transfer tickets for 30 minutes (39 CZK), 90 minutes (50 CZK), 24 hours (150 CZK) or 72 hours (350 CZK).

  • Paper one-off tickets are sold in the Prague Public Transit Co. info centres, Ticket vending machines, Advanced Sales, and selected wholesalers (Relay branches, news stands).
  • Cashless payment of fare – Tickting terminals (validators) are installed in all trams and in the metro entrances.
  • PID lítačka app where you can search for connections and buy tickets. It applies to the Prague Integrated Transport covering all public transport in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region.

From the airport to the Prague city centre

The connection between Václav Havel Airport Prague and Prague city centre is provided by public transport bus and trolleybus lines  which operate at regular few-minute intervals. Bus stops are located directly in front of the terminals. To get to Prague city centre, we recommend taking the 59 trolleybus (Terminal 1/Terminal 2 – Veleslavín train/metro station) and changing to the metro Line A. You will need to purchase the 90-minute ticket (40 CZK) before boarding the bus.

Another option is to use the Airport Express bus, which connects the Main Railway Station (Praha Hlavni Nadrazi) with Václav Havel Airport Prague directly with no other stops. The AE bus runs daily from 5 a.m. till 9 p.m. in regular intervals of 30 minutes. Tickets can be bought directly from the bus driver (100 CZK). Please note that usual Prague public transport tickets cannot be used in the AE bus line.

Night service (0:00 – 4:00 am): 910 bus in the direction of the I.P. Pavlova station.
