Exploring the world with VSE: a throwback to 2025

Internationalization has long been one of the strongest aspects of VSE and remains one of its main priorities. Interest in gaining international experience continues to stay at a high level – in 2025, 1,215 students went abroad. This result confirms that VSE consistently offers a wide range of opportunities for student exchanges and internships at prestigious universities around the world.

A total of 1,095 students went on a study stay at one of nearly 250 partner universities, and another 120 students completed an internship abroad. The opportunity to go abroad is open to everyone – 576 bachelor’s students, 627 master’s students, and 12 PhD students took advantage of it. Students from the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of Business Administration go abroad most often, followed by FIS and FFA.

Students of VSE traveled to 56 countries across 5 continents. The most popular destination was France, followed by Germany, the USA, Italy, and Sweden. Thanks to VSE’s extensive partner network, students also have access to destinations outside Europe – Canada, Mexico, Australia, Hong Kong, Brazil, and Singapore. Interest in short-term intensive courses (BIP) continues to grow: in 2025, 40 students participated in 7 programs in France, Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, Croatia, and Slovakia. For internships, students most often headed to Austria, Spain, Germany, and Belgium, but also to more exotic and distant parts of the world, such as Indonesia, Zambia, and Morocco.

The Path to Prestigious Universities

Studying abroad is made accessible thanks to financial support from the Erasmus+ program and the VSE Scholarship Fund. The exchange program allows students to study at prestigious universities without paying high tuition fees and to receive a scholarship to cover increased costs. This opens doors not only to Europe but also to overseas destinations.

And where can you go, for example?

Nagoya University of Commerce and Business (Japan)
Singapore Management University (Singapore)
Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (Mexico)
University of Sydney Business School (Australia)
University of British Columbia / Sauder School of Business (Kanada)
University of Texas at Austin / McCombs School of Business (USA)
University of Washington / Foster School of Business (USA)

International Mobility Is Not Just for Students

Experience from an international environment is also highly valuable for VSE’s academic and administrative staff, enabling them to develop their departments and enrich their courses. In 2025, VSE employees traveled to 58 countries and completed 737 business trips abroad, mainly within Europe but also to the USA, Argentina, and Taiwan.

As part of the Erasmus program, VŠE sent 141 staff members abroad – for training or as visiting lecturers at partner universities. Since 2024, lecturers have also been able to receive support for teaching stays in non-European countries (outside the Erasmus+ program). Last year, 15 lecturers took advantage of this opportunity, traveling to destinations such as the USA, Peru, Singapore, and India.

An International Environment at VSE

You don’t need to leave the country to gain international experience – the VSE campus itself is highly international. Students can attend courses taught in foreign languages, which offer not only academic knowledge but also the chance to meet classmates from all over the world. Last year, VSE offered 360 courses taught in foreign languages, where Czech students studied alongside more than seven hundred incoming exchange students. The Visiting Professors Program also plays an important role: last year, it offered 46 courses in the summer semester and 24 in the winter semester.

The international atmosphere is further supported by events regularly organized by the International Office – such as the International & Study Abroad Fair, the Europe-wide Erasmus Days, a student photo contest with an exhibition of photos from exchange stays and internships abroad, and the Prague International Staff Week for colleagues from partner universities.

VSE is also actively involved in supporting Ukrainian students and strengthening cooperation with Ukrainian universities. Last academic year, the school established a new partnership with Odessa National Economic University, from which the first four students arrived. Thanks to this collaboration, they were able to spend a semester of their studies in a safer environment, far from the difficult everyday reality in Ukraine.
