Move In Spring Semester 2013:
The earliest move in date for the Fall Semester 2013 is September 11, 2013.
Student dormitory – basic facts
International students can apply for accommodation in the university dormitory. There are two different blocks for international students (Jarov III. F and Jarov III. G). They are situated in Jarov district, Praha 3, which is approximately 20 minutes from the University by direct tram line 9. Both blocks are about 25 minutes from the city center.
Only double-bed rooms are available in the dormitories. Due to capacity limits, it is not possible to get a single room.
Students are assigned to stay in the room with a person of the same sex, unless they have an explicit wish (going both sides from them and theircounterpart) to stay with somebody of the opposite sex.

Equipment
There are quilts and pillows (filled with a feather) with bed linen available in each room (students can ask for clean bed linen twice a month). However, there are no dishes, pans or eating utensils provided. There is a laundry room in each dormitory. Each dormitory has TV rooms, keys are available at the reception desk (ask for “Televize”). There is also a gym in the Roosevelt dormitory. In the block Jarov I. there is a fitness center (entry with a special card which is available at the reception desk).
Some other equipment can be borrowed for a minimum fee or even for free from the reception e.g. iron, vacuum cleaner, balls (volleyball, basketball), hand pump, First Aid Kit etc.
An internet connection is available in most of the rooms (network card (10/100-base-t) and RJ-45 non-cross over patch cable is needed).
There is also a computer lab in the Study Center Jarov. It is situated in the same building as the student canteen (a rather low building just behind the block Jarov III. G).
To be able to ask for reparation, the procedure how to borrow any equipment, etc. please see Guidebook for block Jarov III. F
Arrival
Places in the dormitory are reserved for the students five days before the orientation week starts. Students are charged the fee from this date even if they move in later.
Students can move in every day, even during weekends, but they are obliged to visit the dormitory manager as soon as possible after the arrival to arrange all necessary formalities (signing the accommodation agreement, picking up the dormitory ID card – a passport photo needed!). Please, note that the dormitory manager is only available during his/her office hours!
Dormitory fees
The rent is to be paid at once at the beginning of the semester. Please note that the payment can only be done in cash either in the cash point of the dormitory office (Address: Jeseniova 208, Praha 3) or at the University by putting the money into the bank here. After receiving the contract students can make an online payment as well. Make sure to retain all receipts as a proof of your payment. The dormitory fees vary slightly in the different blocks of dormitories. The total amount is app. 300 EUR for the whole period of stay.

Early arrival to/ late departure from dormitories
There is a possibility of arriving early or departing later to/ from dormitories. As students know from the Welcome packages, those who applied for dormitories can arrive five days prior to the Orientation Week. However, IN URGENT CASE, there is a possibility to arrive earlier. Please, bear in mind that it is just for urgent case, because during the holidays dormitories are having hotel guests, so they wouldn´t be able to provide a place for too many students coming earlier. It is the same with later arrival, there is the possibility of staying a bit longer, but not for all of you.
For those who need to use the dormitories before/after the official dates, please follow these instuctions:
1) STUDENTS COMING EARLY – have to let know the Buddysystem to the spreadsheet sent by the office. There is additional fee per person per night 142 CZK paid cash at the arrival. You may not receive the room you will be living during the semester (from September 14th), so you might have to move in to another.
2) STUDENTS DEPARTING LATER – have to let know the main dormitory manager by email by the end of October/ March for Fall/ Sping semester and pay the dormitory manager by the end of November/ April (Fall/ Spring semester). There will be additional fee 142 CZK per person per nigh paid according to the manager´s instructions. It could so happen that you wouldn´t receive the same room as during the semester and thus you would have to move in to another. Please check the Housing meeting presentation for changes!!!!!!!
